The Aromatouch Technique is a brand new type of alternative therapy that uses 8 Essential Oils/Blends in combination, to affect a person’s mind, mood, cognitive function or health. Essential Oils have previously been combined with beneficial effects in Aromatherapy Massage and that’s now happening, again, with the Aromatouch Technique. A very gentle technique that utilises light strokes on the spine and the feet.
Essential oils are fragrant oils that have been extracted from plants, mainly, through steam distillation (e.g., eucalyptus oil) or expression (grapefruit oil). These distilled essential oils have been used as medicines since distillation was invented in the eleventh century, when Avicenna, a Persian Polymath, isolated essential oils using steam distillation.
Aromatherapy, as an alternative therapy, seeks to treat or prevent disease through the use of these Essential Oils, some of which (Tea Tree, for example) have demonstrated anti-microbial effects. Jean Valnet, a French Surgeon, pioneered the use of Essential Oils as antiseptics during World War II, when treating wounded soldiers.
There’s a growing body of evidence suggesting that a pleasing aroma can improve our mood and sense of well-being. For this reason, each oil used in the Aromatouch technique was selected for its individual aromatic and sensory properties and you can find out more about the oils used here.
Many of today’s disorders and diseases can be helped through the use of Essential Oils, each one having its own unique property to restore health on all levels. It’s especially effective in reducing stress levels, improving immune response, restoring energy levels, soothing aches and pains, and reducing muscle tension.
The Aromatouch Technique addresses four areas: Stress Management, Immune Support, Inflammatory Response and Homeostasis and two of the eight Oils/Blends focus on each of the four areas. It’s the combination of these eight Aromatherapy Oils & Blends that make Aromatouch such an effective treatment and an incredibly pleasing and relaxing experience.
It’s important to note that Aromatherapy Oils – and the Aromatouch Technique – don’t cure any specific condition. They simply help the body to find a natural way to cure itself and improve the immune response.
