Hopi Ear Candes
Hopi Ear Candles are the essential piece of equipment used in the ancient and natural therapy known as Hopi Ear Candling or Thermal Auricular Therapy.
Historically, the use of Ear Candles can be traced to people of Siberia, Central Asia, the Far East and the Australian-Oceanic archipelago but the practice of using Hopi Ear Candles was introduced to the modern world courtesy of the native, Hopi Indians of North Arizona in the US.
The Shaman healers of the Hopi tribes used ear candles in healing and in tribal rituals. Ancient wall paintings show their importance in initiation rituals and healing ceremonies within the tribe. Today, Hopi Ear Candles are still made using the old traditional formula that originated from the Hopi Indians.
Hopi Ear Candles and Ear Candling
Hopi Ear Candling is a soothing, deeply relaxing and calming experience. It’s a non-invasive treatment of the ears and is used as a real alternative with ear, nose and throat related problems and conditions.
Doctors in Europe and America widely use Hopi Ear Candling as an alternative to more conventional treatments, including ear syringing, grommets and antibiotics.
Hopi Ear Candles (made by Biosun) are hand made from a rolled up piece of unbleached cotton, which has been brushed with aromatic essences and very high quality honey extracts. The candle contains a patented safety filter, which is designed to prevent combustion residues and unburned wax from entering the ear canal.
Hopi Ear candles are deemed to be a class IIa medical device according to German Medical Devices Law and the necessary accreditation is provided under CE0535.
How Hopi Ear Candles Work
First of all, the Hopi Ear Candles are inserted, gently, into the ear canal. Once lit, the movement of the flame causes a light underpressure (stack effect) and a gentle massage for the ear drum, all of which leads to a purely physical effect.
This physical effect manifests as a very pleasant warm feeling and a balancing of pressure in the ear, forehead and sinuses. After the treatment, many people describe the effect as a ‘feel good’, pressure and pain soothing sensation which is focused, predominantly, in the area around the ear and in the head.
For those suffering with a blocked nose, prior to the Ear Candling, they often report a clearing of the nasal passages and an improved sense of smell. Over and above this, the whole process is wonderfully relaxing.
